Savage 4 update!!!

S3 made a press release today saying hercules (no suprise), and elsa! (come to think of it they did make a virge product) have announced Savage4 products, that will appear on store shelves in April. Read about it here -Yahoo - S3 Announces Design Wins With Two Top 10 Worldwide Add-in-Card Suppliers

New wrapper is perfect(visually)

Well there's a new wrapper called GL2IDE. It renders everything perfectly (even transparencies), but thanks to the Savages poor OpenGL ICD, expect frame rates from 20fps (hallways, small rooms) to 1-3fps (anywhere else). Oh, well. For this wrapper and the latest news visit GlideUnderground.

Benchmarks...

Please send in your benchmarks, and feel free to tell me about any reviews or links to add! I'm getting bored here...

Double Whoops!!!

Sorry, I had ISP troubles yesterday, and there really wasn't anything to report. I'll keep it updated now...hopefully. Also, send in your benchmarks!!! I have a collection, but I don't wan't to update it a lot. I want to get the bulk of it up, so send more in!!!

Is Nintendo Suing or not?

I have heard some places that nintendo is definitely going to sue Epsilon and RealityMan (the authors of the awesome UltraHLE), but I've heard different stories from people close to Nintendo. Does anybody really know? Or does it matter since the authors didn't even do anything illegal?

Suggestions...

What should I add ? I'll have a benchmarks page in a couple days, but until then, is there anything I should add? Tell me! BTW, the reviews page is back up!

Whoops!!!

Well, It looks like I was too lazy to update yesterday! Head over to S3 planet and get S3 tweak 1.02r!!! Also, you may want to stick with the 6.13.0.8 drivers, the new ones are pretty bad in Quake2 and Half-Life, but slightly better in D3D. Also head over to QNX, and get the operating system demo!!! It makes a bootable floppy disk, which contains a simple O.S., a web browser, a simple word processor, and a Java game!!! It's very cool, go check it out!

Bleh!

Sorry I wasn't able to update last night. I redesigned the page, but decided i'd go back to the old style. I didn't think frames made this page any better anyway.

S3 and #9

Yep, and S3 and #9 have teamed up on the Savage4. Read the press release here

MaximumPC Editor Dead!

I hate to inform you that Andrew Sanchez, senior editor at MaximumPC magazine (formerly boot) died saturday from cardiac arrest, after being hospitalized for flu-like symtoms. MaximumPC/boot has been my favorite PC magazine for years, and he was always my favorite reviewer. May you rest in peace.

Free Pc's!!!

As you probably already know Free-PCs, idealab's! (e-toys,Net-zero) latest venture is offering a Compaq Presario Internet PC with a P2-333,32 megs ram,4 gig HD, 33.6 modem, and free internet access in exchange for you putting up with a barrage of advertisements, and submitting personal information. No idea how they are going to pull that off, but I heard rumors that they may ask for a credit card number (yikes!), in case the computer is tampered with or stolen. Sounds interesting, though. I went ahead and registered. Visit their web site here.

No Savage news...

I know this is supposed to be only about things pertaining to the savage, but there is nothing to put really, to keep updating everday. There is a review of the Hercules Terminator Beast Supercharged from hardwarecentral here. Be sure and keep checking s3 planet's forums too.
